As we all know, ‘Uttama Villain’ that has Padma Bhushan actor Kamal Haasan playing dual roles is bifurcated into two portions: one set in the contemporary era and the other in 8th century.
In an exclusive chat with TamilWire, the film’s director Ramesh Aravind revealed that the 21st century portions of the film have been finished, and the 8th-9th century portions are being shot in real locations in Madhya Pradesh and Bangalore. The shoot is currently progressing at Bangalore and it will be a single stretch 50 day long schedule.
Speaking about the title and the plot, the popular actor who has acted with Kamal Haasan in many movies and now directing the veteran in Tamil for the first time said, “in life duality is constant – Strong weak, Good Bad, God Devil – like that if there is a Uthaman obviously there will be a villain – and everyone of us have the both shade in us.”
Speaking about the songs, Ramesh Aravind said, one song has been completed and shot in Turkey recently and another song is in progress. The director says all crew members including the music director Ghibran have been selected very carefully and expressed happiness saying, ” Hard working, talented and nice people are nearly impossible to find and all in my set are like that is nice”.
The director also assured that the movie will be a very interesting cocktail with more focus on comedy and relationship.
‘Uttama Villain’ has Pooja, Andrea, Parvathy Menon, Parvathy Nair, Oorvasi, Jayaram, Nasser, Chithra Lakshmanan, M.S.Basker and many others in its star cast. Veteran directors K.Balachander and K.Vishwanath play extended cameo roles in the film.
The film is being produced by Tirrupathi Brothers of N.Lingusamy and Rajkamal Films International.
